Annotation Number Two.

This will give me more of an idea of how doctors dealt with health back in the day, and how they tried to solve the issues. Dr. Benjamin Rush was the city's leading physician at the time and this talks about how helps the city's fever.

The fairmount water works played a large role in supplying old Philadelphia with water.
This website is for the interpretive center that is located on the very spot where the history all took place. On this website it concludes how the Yellow Fever struck Philadelphia, and how the Water Works made efforts to improve public health.

Thesis For NHD Research Essay

The advent of water filtration in Philadelphia has improved public health, and has made great impact on the city both Politically and economically. Filtration has since changed the whole nation. Sand filtration has since opened doors in technology as well as jobs. The venture for clean water is very difficult in some countries, thankfully in America we have filtration.

NHD: Topic Selection (Update)

I have changed my topic to the Pennslyvania Gazzete on a count of the fact that our topic needs to be less broad and more specific. (:

NHD: Topic Thesis

Communication For The Colonies: The Pennslyvania Gazzette
a Persuasive Thesis Statement on The Pennslyvania Gazzette:
Even though News papers no longer effect soicety. , It was a way to inform the colonies of the government happinings, because It gave people a way to form their own opinons. and Its was the first news paper to publish the constitution for the public to see..

NHD: Topic Selection (Update)

What Will I Do for NHD?

For National History Day, I have decided that The Printing Press would be a wonderful choice for innovation in history. I also will be working with a partner to make a documentary. Johannes Gutenberg is the inventor of the Movable- Type Print Press.

Although before then there were many ways to record the current events or important history. Although before this wasn't a way to effectively notify somebody of something. In a way where you could tell more than one person at a time with out being in a group where hearing is limited, or where you could articulate your thoughts and prefect them before anyone here's about it.

Also, there's a political effect, where people get to learn more about both sides of the political fence and pick there own views and opinions.

The Bill of Rights

NCC Interactive Bill of Rights/Constitution

Bill of Rights

What is the Bill of Rights?

The first ten amendments in the U.S Constitution.

Which 3 of the 10 are most important to you and why?

First: Freedom of religion, speech, press, and assembly. Also, the right to petition the government.

This is important to me because i like to express my opinion through speech. This allows me too. And to really know whats going on in the world and my government.

Eight: No excessive bail or fines and no cruel or unusual punishments.

This is important to me, because their are many ways to punish a person. And the worst and most brutal, painful kind are unusual and cruel. In other countries this type of thing is acceptable. I am glad it is not in mines. This also sometimes leads to dictation.

Nine: Rights not listed are not necessarily denied.

I like this one because it says basically, there is always improvement for our country.

How have our rights changed over the past 200 years?

Anyone who is a U.S Citizen has the right to vote.

What rights are missing from the Bill of Rights? What would you add and why?

None that come to mind.

Are there rights that we don't need or that you don't agree with? Which would you take away and why?

I pretty much agree with everything.

What is Personality?

What is personality?

Personality is how a person comes off to another person.
For instance if I were to meet a person today and their impression of me was smart and amiable. That would be a first impression...but over time that would build into a personality. How I interact with others. Some people mistake personality for character.
How does our personality affect our choices and behavior?

I personally believe it depends on the person.

I am a ENFJ- which means Extroverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging.

2. What was the strength of each preference?

I or E = %
S or N = %
F or T= %
J or P = %

3. What does the Keirsey description call you? Teachers

3. What does the Butt and Heiss type description call you? I don't know...

4. What are 5 personality traits common to your type? Responsible, Determined, Resourceful, Optimistic, Quick-Witted.

5. What 3 famous people share your type?

6. What are three careers that are good for your type?

7. Do you agree with the results? Why or why not?
Sureee.....

8. Add any additional comments or questions (EC)
I learned a lot about what type of person I am, but where can I go to learn about other types?

The Chocolate War

The Chocolate War
is a book about a student named Jerry Renault at an all boys Catholic high school, who goes against everything his school teaches about participation, and school spirit when he refuses to sell the chocolates for the schools profit. Although the chocolate sell was voluntary, it was basically unheard of to refuse to sell. Not only was Jerry ridiculed for his choice to not sell the chocolates by the teachers, students, and "friends". He was not only unfairly treated but physically abused for his choice to exercise his right of not selling the chocolates.

What impact did Jerry Renault have in the story?

Jerry Renault left a large impact on the school in the story. He stood up for his rights, but the only issue is what he stood up for. Jerry had a perfectly normal freshman life. There was football, new friends, girls, average grades, and some less that normal teachers. But he compromised his "higher-up" position at his school as a freshman for what... I don't exactly know. Jerry failed to specifically determine the reason for his actions. So, Jerry Renault did leave an impact...but an impact of courage? Or did he leave behind confusion and tension?

How is Jerry Renault's life similar to mines?

He is a freshman in high school just like me. And will fight for what he believes in. He is also religious, and so am I.

How is Jerry Renault different from me?

One of the main differences I picked up on between me and Jerry, is knowing why we have the opinion we do, or what we are fighting for. Another difference is Jerry seemed to bring issues to himself. He could have easily sold the chocolates to avoided all his issues. Another difference is that if I was trying to make a change and saw that one method wasn't working, I would explore some other less threatening, brutal, and safer options. He should have sought other options. And I think he may have realized that when he got beat in the boxing ring at the end.
